A B.E. Mechanical Engineer by education and a passionate entrepreneur by heart, S.M.V.Ram Prakash comes from a family deeply rooted in the traditional jaggery business and expanded it into exporting jaggery and other Indian groceries. While he continues to be actively involved in his family business, his love for travel, led him to found a travel company. From local food and traditions to hidden stories and everyday life, he brings guests closer to the real Madurai through experiences shaped by his deep local knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit.
Varsha
Born and brought up in Madurai, Varsha spent most of her school and college years away from home, which made her appreciate and love her city even more. She has travelled from a young age, but it was during college that she discovered her love for exploring new eateries and the stories behind food. Today, she loves bringing people together through food, sharing Madurai’s culture and traditions, and seeing their reactions as they discover it for the first time.

With a postgraduate degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management, Palani has turned his love for travel, people and food into a way of life. An avid runner gearing up for the Procam Slam, he’s equally at home on a running trail, a mountain trek or cruising unexplored roads on his motorcycle. But wherever the journey takes him, there’s one thing he never misses - the local street food! For Palanivel, the best travel stories begin off the beaten path and usually end with something delicious on the plate.
Kathiresan
A finance graduate and banker by profession, Kathir has always had a deep-rooted passion for food and all things culinary. During his undergraduate years in Madurai, he built a food blog on Instagram that grew to over 12,000 followers, exploring the food culture of Madurai and across Tamil Nadu. During his time in the UK for postgraduate studies, he also trained and worked commercially as a baker with a supermarket chain, crafting everything from danishes and pastries to breads of different kinds. Today, as a sustainable finance professional at a global bank, he continues to balance his career with his love for food, travel, and cooking. He has also been part of Foodies Day Out for quite some time, helping international visitors discover and experience the vibrant food culture and flavours of Madurai.
