FOODIES DAY OUT is a tour by the foodies for the foodies ! We are not your regular tourist guides. We do this because we love our food and want to share our passion with foodies travelling to our city. Our foodies are Doctors, Engineers, Businessmen, Architects etc who share a common passion – FOOD. We are your local friends taking you out to have good food and share stories and experiences.

MUKUNTHAN A V S

Mukunthan is our creative head, with his passion ranging from cold chain operation to motorcycling and food. A mechanical engineer by profession he runs a cold storage and is an ardent foodie who loves to travel just to explore new cuisines. He will share a good meal and a few good tales about his travels on his trusted Royal Enfield while giving you a glimpse into Madurai’s food and history.

PRAVEENA MUKUNTHAN

Praveena is a computer engineer, turned businesswoman turned entrepreneur. She is an avid foodie, who loves experiencing and experimenting with new food and cuisines. Born and brought up in Madurai, she has a wealth of knowledge about the temple city, its culture and food. Being a classical Bharatnatyam dancer and veena player herself, she is always in the pursuit of artistic expression and excellence. Food, dance and travel are the forces that drive her! She loves to meet people from round the world and share stories.

ATHIDEERAPANDIAN P

Pandian is an Alumni from Swinburne University (Melbourne) and PSG Tech (Coimbatore) with 10 years experience in the IT industry. He is from a family of Doctors, an Engineer by profession, but a full time foodie by passion. He runs an Organic Farm (Pandian Agro Farms), a Traditional Food Delivery Outlet (Ayyamma Samayal) and is the co-founder of Foodies Day Out. He has widely traveled around the world, and is looking forward to taking you out for an awesome dinner in Madurai.

MYTHILY PANDIAN

Dr Mythily is an Obstetrician trained in Fertility Consultation. Apart from her profession as a doctor, she has a special interest in cooking various health-oriented recipes. She co-owns “Ayyamma Samayal” an organic traditional food delivery outlet. When you are taken on a food trip by a doctor, you can be assured that you are in safe hands!

SOUNDAR

Soundar’s a young energetic biker, with a post-graduate in English Literature. His passion for bikes is only surpassed by his passion for food! He loves to travel to new places to try the hidden gems of the local cuisine. By touring with a Maduraikaran (Maduraiite) like Soundar, you’ll hear fascinating stories about the city and discover local eateries that you won’t find alone.

SRI SUNDAR A V S

This professional architect, with a Masters in Project management from Manchester University, is also a passionate foodie, who also runs a hotel called Kani’s Kitchen in Bangalore now. Sundar will mesmerise you with funny anecdotes and tales along with the best food the city has to offer that you’ll never know how the hours slip by.

DEEPA VENKATRAMAN

Deepa has a Masters in Computer Applications and has worked in information technology with MNCs for more than a decade. She has played an integral role in the technology for education initiatives at IIT Madras for several years. She is an alumni of IIM Bangalore and is happiest while traveling, learning new things and sharing stories / experiences. She currently designs/ creates handcrafted jewellery and heads FoodiesDayOut at Chennai.

AAMIRAH

Aamirah, born and raised in Chennai is a true Chennaite, modern, vibrant and full of life. She has a Bachelors degree in Media and a Masters in Psychology and is a CELTA certified trainer. She is an avid foodie and loves experimenting with cooking and has a food blog- a sprinkle of health. She loves trying out new cuisines, traveling and meeting new people.

FOODIES AT SINGAPORE

DIVYA VENKATRAMAN

Divya is an engineer at heart, a researcher at mind and an experimenter at her very soul! She has walked a labyrinthine career path that started like many others as a software engineer to currently pursuing a post-doctoral research fellowship working in the area of learning analytics at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). She has a wide spectrum of interests that includes challenging her fitness levels at spartan/marathon races, travelling, story telling and cooking. She is looking forward to meeting new people through FoodiesDayOut @ Singapore and giving them a lingering and myriad taste of the cosmopolitan island she calls home!
